One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got picked up hitch-hiking with a friend in New Zealand by two heavily tattooed Maori brothers, both recently out of prison, who invited us to sleep at theirs for the night. The night passed without sleep, instead drinking cheap whiskey and beer and jamming on their collection of various refurbished instruments. It concluded with us eating spaghetti on toast for breakfast and meeting their babies' mamas and extended family. I discovered the truth in the old proverb, "never judge a man based on his face tattoos."
