Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking for my next hometown. Austin seems to be a happening place, and I am interested in checking it out and taking the city for a test drive, so to speak. I'm looking to come down for a week or two, dash some doors, and check out the lay of the land, rents, cost of living, etc.

I can keep mostly to myself and go exploring on my own, or I can be sociable and have a great time taking a tour from someone who knows the city extensively. I'm a poet and a poker player and a crafty all-round creative guy. Thanks in advance for helping me become enamored with Austin.
