Overview
About Me
I’m a 25 year old female nurse living in Nelson. I really enjoy learning about other people, their lives and their journeys. I love listening to people talk about themselves, the things they have learned and the things they are passionate about.
I love helping people and at the moment my goal for each day is simply to find a bit of happiness. I read a book about traveling and have been trying to apply some of the principles of simply being present which was fantastic advice especially as I was feeling a bit home sick at the time.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
On my travels I’ve often sat in local squares and wondered about people’s lives so I’d love to chat with someone about how they live their life and how they find joy in a day
I’m also new to traveling and have been getting more and more brave with the things I experience and making more of an effort to push myself outside my comfort zone. This will be another thing that is outside my comfort zone that I’m excited to overcome.
Interests
Rock climbing, reading, exploring, hiking, philosophy
Music, Movies, and Books
I like all kinds of books and movies.
When I’m tired and falling asleep I love a good romantic comedy so I don’t have to worry about catching the end of the story. (This is especially common after working a night shift 😆)
I loved schindler's list for its intensity and the message it gave so movies with depth really appeal to me as well.
Everywhere I’ve been lately I’ve been asking people about their favourite film that was made in their country as a different way to experience other cultures.
I’m also addicted to TED talks and love a good documentary. I’ve been talking to some people as well that say podcasts are fantastic and I should look into that as well and have given me some good options!! I’m excited to that when I get home.
I’m just as variable with books and will read pretty much anything. My top recommendation is usually ‘being mortal’ by Atul Gawande but at the moment I’m reading Catch 22 by Joesph Heller.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I did a caving mission through the deepest cave in the Southern Hemisphere.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would like to learn to trust people and the world more and I’m hoping this experience will help 🙂
