ABOUT ME

I grew up in Vancouver, which I must admit is a pretty gorgeous and interesting city. Then I spent a semester abroad studying in Milan, Italy....which ended in a two month backpacking trip around Eastern Europe. This experience convinced me that I wanted to spend more time abroad so I went back to Vancouver, finished my last year of university and then moved to Beijing, which is where I live now.

I originally joined looking for a couch in Romania. Now that I'm living in Beijing I participate by meeting other foreigners living here and introducing travelers to the city.

Interests

Hmm...obviously traveling. also I'm currently training for a half marathon, and I enjoy going to this weekly pub quiz in beijing. my favorite TV show is the office although I'm not a huge fan of this most recent season. In Beijing I like going out with my friends to lounges or chills bars, or occasionally clubs if we're in a dancing type of mood. oh, and I love wikipedia, and chocolate, and singing along to my ipod in public (hey it's china...I'm a foreigner...people are going to stare at me either way)

Music, Movies, and Books

movies - little miss sunshine (to cheer me up), se7en (to freak me out), sister act two (it's a guilty pleasure),.... or any good ones that make you think

music - I can admit to liking top 40/dance music that has a good beat and a catchy tune.... it's fun for a friday night. I also like folksy stuff with acoustic guitar

books - I need to read more... I'm working on it...and by read I mean books and not just random wikipedia articles
