关于我
Tengo dos nombres. Esos días me llamo Vega.
Here are some things I believe about myself :
I'm from the south of France, which has its fair share of aesthetic perks. I think that hows matter more than whats. I studied philosophy at uni. I love light and the games it plays with things. I am quite keen on beautiful sentences. I like to think about the world in terms of layers. I want to go by the maxim "no god nor master", and see teachers in everything and everyone instead.
I have no home at the moment, so I cannot take anyone in, unfortunately.
That being said, I am skeptical as to what "myself" refers to.

It makes a lot of sense and I've been very thankful for it a couple of times in my life. I deeply agree with its core concepts (trust, solidarity between strangers, and its being free) and would like to see them implemented at many other levels within our societies.

I'm a sceptic, and trying my best to be an optimist these days ! I come from a lifetime of negativity so that's a cool challenge for me. Also, being generous with my laughs and smiles.
I reckon that one of the things I enjoy the most is trying to look for the links that exist between all the things that exist in the world (I'm a big fan of the everything-in-everything principle), or trying to understand where my thoughts and feelings come from, why do I (people) react in such way to such situation, why do I (they) hold such and such values, how are the ideas in my head related, etc. I'm really interested in 'the human psyche/nature', however I have no formal training in psychology (I sense this goes beyond psychology anyway). I really enjoy discussing things with people ; especially at that time of my life - I'm very unsure about what I am going to do, and I notice some sort of a craving for hearing other people's stories in me, I think it'd help me to hear about different life perspectives and choices.
I like spending time contemplating the scenery around me and trying to look for details, especially on a sunny day because the light creates so many details to loot at. I quite like beautiful things.
I'm interested in any kind of religious/meditative/metaphysical/cosmogonic input. I'm a rationalist at heart, but one of the star themes that are currently on air in my brain these days is cognitive relativism, so I want to confront the little idea I have about the world with others and see what I conclude for myself. I also very much like God as an aesthetic concept. So tell me about your god, if you have one around.
I like hiking a lot, one thing I especially appreciate about it is the climbing part (there's always one), when it gets really difficult and exhausting and everybody shuts up (including my own thoughts) and there's just the sound of our steps on the ground, and the occasional rock rolling down the slope. In the city I cycle or I walk ; I'm always happy to take a walk in the streets and look out for funny architectural things.
A year ago (perhaps), I would have said that I LOVE music and that life without music is not worth it etc. etc., but I'm not so sure of this any more. I spend more and more time living without music and I realise that I enjoy this quite a lot - it helps me focus more on the present moment, instead of escaping into musical landscapes. I'm still really into music though, I've played a couple of instruments over the years (flute, piano or violin). I like to try and sing polyphonies when I get the chance to ! (not very often)
I like books and stories. I like thinking about Siberia and how huge and empty it is. I've really enjoyed swimming in freshwater ponds or rivers over the past couple of years.
I've had a camera for about a year (which isn't mine, though) and I quite like shooting portraits.

音乐、电影和书籍
I just finished reading two of the trilogy you're supposed to read in a row : 1984 and Fahrenheit 451 (I had read Brave New World a long, long time ago ; a very long time ago indeed). 1984 quite horrified me, however, I suppose that the appendix should give me some comfort (did you read it ? After a quick survey amongst my friends, it turned out that many people skipped it, yet, it is part and parcel of the novel).
Fahrenheit 451 was a beautiful read, it has definitely touched me in the sense described in the novel. The writing style is rad.
I spent the little free time I got over the summer reading some of Kundera's books : Laughable Loves, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Slowness and The Book of Laughter and Forgetting. I consider this author a genuine seer with an acute clairvoyance on and within human nature. Reading these books may almost be like walking around in someone else's mind ; even being someone else at times.
"Why has the pleasure for slowness disappeared? Ah, where have they gone, the amblers of yesteryear? Where have they gone, those loafing heroes of folk song, those vagabonds who roam from one mill to another and bed down under the stars? Have they vanished along with footpaths, with grasslands and clearings, with nature? There is a Czech proverb that describes their easy indolence by a metaphor: "they are gazing at God's windows." A person gazing at God's windows is not bored; he is happy. In our world, indolence has turned into having nothing to do, which is a completely different thing: a person with nothing to do is frustrated, bored, is constantly searching for the activity he lacks." (Slowness)
I seem to have a thing for Russian literature as well, even though I have read very few books by Russian writers. I am in awe whenever I read Solzhenistyn. He masters the light like no other.
When I was younger, I'd have straightforwardly named Alice in Wonderland as my favourite book. It does have a very special place in my heart.
Music used to be very important to me (it still is but in a different and - I find - healthier way), main lighthouses in my musical landscape being some Fat Freddy's Drop, Wax Tailor, Infected Mushroom, Nym, Telemann, Nas, Parov Stelar, lots of bluegrass (check out things like the Stanley Brothers or Ola Belle Reed, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Chris Thile, Pokey Lafarge, The Wailing Jennies, The Be-Good Tanyas...), Dave Hum, blues, Paco de Lucia, Palestrina's cantiques, Anticeptik, Rap (which is today's poetry, imo. I mostly listen to French Rap because I cannot make out much of the lyrics in other languages), Bubble, Zenzile, etc. I like John Dowland, especially when (attempting at) reading Shakespeare.
我做过的一件不可思议的事情
I've been singing in a choir lately, I've found it absolutely awesome.

I love listening to people's stories and takes on life.
I'm alright with cooking, I can talk a bit about languages, I could translate a few things perhaps.
Repot plants, peel chestnuts, make bonfires, take pictures, chant mantras, wrestle... ?

Questions ! I have a ton of them.
A few thought experiments.
