I am a curious person: places, books, images, sounds, stories are my playing field. I believe that sharing is the key to a better life.

PHILOSOPHY

Improving, day by day. Being immerse in the world and taking on responsibility to make it a better place. There are no single ways to achieve these goals, but a few preconditions: respect, generosity, engagement, openness of mind, self consciousness.
I believe we take what we give: so, I tend to start with a smile. I would never judge a person on the basis of cues. I strive for knowledge!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd be delighted to host couch surfers, under conditions of reciprocal respect. I am old enough for not fancying crazy things: I am not the kind of person who parties all night long! ... Oh, I've got a beautiful cat : bear it in mind if you are allergic!
I'd be happy to visit your coach, as I frequently travel for my work.
Finally, I'd be happy to meet new friends in Brussels, as I recently moved in this city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've just started!

Some time ago, I've met a film maker in a airport, who was travelling all around the world to make a documentary on CouchSurfing... meeting her was so enlightening that I decided to join the network!

Interessen

A few of my favourite things: music, literature, cinema, museums, politics and... cooking! My ideal night is hosting friends for dinner: nice chats, music, good food and good wine! After that, I love going out and meeting the city!

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Books: Jorge Amado; Ian McEwan; Italo Calvino; Bertold Brecht; Cesare Pavese; Leonardo Sciascia, Philip Roth; Saramago, and many others.
Music: even more difficult! I listen to all music. I am, somehow, a blues lover (Billie Holiday is my favourite singer ever), but I really do enjoy any music which speaks the language of sincere inspiration.
Movies: Rossellini, Fellini, Tim Burton, David Cronenberg, Michel Gondry, Luchino Visconti, and many others!

I grew up in Sicily and then I travelled quite a lot.
I saw beauty all over. Now I can't think of a single thing...

Lehren, lernen, teilen

CouchSurfing is all about learing and sharing, or so it seems to me. There is a Sicilian poem that says (uh, let's see how to translate it!): "I want you as a friend at my table, and it is untrue that you're different from me: I open my arms and I call you brother". This does not sound as nice as it is in Sicilian ("ti vogghiu amicu a tavula. E nun è veru mai ca si diversu e mia, cc'allongu i razza e ti chiamu frati"), but still it resumes the feeling that brought me here.
