About Me

**Heads up!**
I would prefer if you sent me a request about one week in advance (no more than one and a half weeks) as I usually don't know what I'm doing two weeks in advance hehe Last minute requests are totally welcome, I want to return the kindness that others showed me when I was searching for a place to stay last minute as well ^_^ I also unfortunately can't call or text phone numbers that aren't German but we can use What's App, Couchsurfing or you can call me instead! :)
Now on with the show!
-----
I never know what to put in things like this. So instead enjoy a collection of random things about me!

Even though my nickname is Cat I would rather own a dog. (But I like both cats and dogs, don't worry!) Cheesy 80's music is amazing. I love the sound scissors make when they cut paper. Sometimes I get on the train and go to a station I've never been to before so I can explore a new part of my city :) Nothing makes me happier than sunshine and blue skies! When I'm obsessed with a song, I'll put it on repeat until I stop liking it. I love getting lost (you can discover so much that way, you know?). I love horror movies, but I get scared really easily so I rarely watch them. When I make cookies I eat more batter than I do baked cookies. I love the smell of rain (who doesn't though?)

I suppose I'm pretty weird, but it's fun so it's okay!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hmmm... I love meeting travellers and making friends through that, it's something I've always loved about travelling. So while I'm not able to travel now, I thought it might be nice to open my couch up to travellers like you ^_^

Interests

I love puns and food. I find both very apeeling (hahaha see what I did there?)

I also like languages (currently focusing on German and Turkish :) ), cooking and baking, growing my own food, camping (I go in every season. Yep, including during Canadian winters), exploring, walking, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

Can I be honest? I pick up books, start reading them, then put them down and forget about them, pick them up a month later, forget what's happened in them and then have to start the book all over xD Currently I'm going through that with Couchsurfing im Iran (the im isn't a typo, it's a German book hehe), and The Golden Notebook by Doris Lessing. When I think of books I like, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Alice in Wonderland and The Little Prince all come to mind :)

I don't watch movies very often so if you have any recommendations, I'd love to hear them! When I do watch movies, they're often not in English movies (and usually without subtitles because they're often don't exist for the movies I want to watch lol). I absolutely adore Lost in Translation (American), 13 (Iranian), Paprika (Japanese animation) and Başka Dilde Aşk (Turkish) :)

As for music, I love stuff from all over the world! Name a band and I'll look it up. I love finding new music!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably cliff jumping. It was really terrifying and fun all at the same time. Maybe one day I'll do sky diving?

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: How to make the Canadian specialty called poutine. It's made of potato chips, gravy (it's the brown sauce people put over meat or mashed potatoes, in German: Bratensoße. I'm currently trying to find a good vegetarian/vegan replacement so I usually make mine out of onions or mushrooms), and cheese curds (curds are just pieces of unpressed cheese... I have no idea how to describe it other than that xD). Or we can make some simple pancakes and maple syrup. I'm a vegetarian so I make everything without meat and when I can, without animal products.

Learn: What it's like in your country and some unique things that you have in your country :)

Share: I can share my love for Frankfurt, and show you all my favourite places and all the forests we have :) And of course recipes, I seriously love sharing recipes with people :3 Oh, and my WiFi/WLAN password (ask me, otherwise I'll forget! >.
