ABOUT ME

I'm a queer lady photographer, taking a break from my second degree to spend some time in Europe. I've been fortunate to receive the amazing hospitality of people in Turkey, Wales and around Germany so far, and I'll finish my trip in the Middle East and Sweden.

PHILOSOPHY

It's kind of like trying to stand on an exercise ball. Learn and do.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By negotiating a visit with you, and then coming to stay! I'll be traveling for six months this year.

When I come home this year my couch will be open to visitors in return. Depending on what you want/I can offer - cooking for you and making you a bed in the lounge to start with!

Interessen

I like: loud dinners, speaking plainly, precarious car trips, surprising tastes, bumping in for shows, walking in the Canterbury Ranges in New Zealand, talking with my Grandmother for hours, home crafts, dancing with myself or others, being invested in a project, following leads.

I'm interested in arcane/hermetic/bookish things and how they can be useful/funny/connective. Performances (in all contexts), economies (subtle and explicit), politics (queer/indigenous/poc/worker/sometimes-feminist).

Dressing up, being game, taking risks, taking the time for comfort.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Heaps - Mostly non-fiction (art criticism/history; lesbian, indigenous and POC writers; cultural studies), but I am always open to more fiction recommendations!

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Skiing off-piste in Allan's Basin (NZ) - momentum and the sky.
Coming back to a warm dinner in the small not-for-profit club that my grandparents built over their lifetime.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I can teach you to support your voice (singing or not), show you the basics on a DSLR (Nikon is my specialty), can draw your image in a way that pleases me, can roll you expert cigarettes, do dramatic story readings, offer advice, or be your informative and slightly satirical tour-guide at an art event or through a gallery.
