Writing my PhD (International Relations) from the comfort of home in the Ouje Bougoumou Cree Nation, Quebec.

ABOUT ME

I'm an outgoing, laid-back guy. I love the outdoors (living in a remote community works well in that sense), and am excited about a snowy winter.

I love traveling (my wife and I had an awesome trip to Colombia and Ecuador this summer), whether domestically or internationally. Living in Canada has been great for this - so much to explore!

I enjoy meeting and hanging out with new people, trying new food and experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have mostly been surfing but have also been involved in meets in Singapore and Montreal. My wife and I have hosted, including up in Ouje Bougoumou.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed around the south of the US, in Syria, India, China, and Colombia. I lived in Singapore for six months and was involved in meets there, and in Montreal when we first arrived in Canada. Have hosted a little in Canada as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Got into a little trouble over in the Ukraine trying to get a train from Moscow to Budapest and had to mission back to Russia. I avoided bribing border guards with big Alsatian dogs, and met an amazing man from Bulgaria who helped me to get back to Moscow. We didn't share any language except "beer" "coffee" "please" "thank you" and "two" in Russian. I was alone and breaking the law unknowingly. Finding somebody to share that with was amazing.
