I am an easy going and friendly person who enjoys travelling and meeting new people. I am currently completing an MA in Second Language and Teaching and did my undergraduate degree in French and Hispanic Studies. As my studies reflect, I have a keen interest in languages and learning about different cultures. Although I enjoy travelling, I prefer the experience of living and working in a country as it gives you the opportunity to see the more authentic side rather than just follow the tourist trail.

I think that staying with the local people rather than hotels gives you the opportunity to experience a different side of the country. It is also a very interesting way to meet new people who can show you the ropes and give you tips that the guide books will miss out on.
I also like the opportunity to offer other travellers a more authentic experience on their travels and perhaps make lifelong friends along the way.

My all time favourite book is One hundred Years of Solitude (Gabriel Garcia Marquez), followed closely by A Brave New World (Aldous Huxley.
I'm a big fan of world cinema and films by Darren Aronofsky.
I enjoy listening to all types of music just depends on the mood!

I am always interested to learn about other people's ideas, thoughts, places they've been too, things they've seen, experiences that changed their life..basically things that make you who you are.

I'd be happy to share my somewhat limited cooking skills, life experiences and conversation over a nice drink. At the moment I am unable to offer a place to stay as I am living with family but once I am settled in my own place I plan to offer what I can to other travellers.
