My name is Catherine Blais. I am 22 years old and live in Quebec; a beautiful Canadian province where we mostly speak French. So you will understand that my French is better than my English, but I can get around in english as well!
I recently completed my bachelor degree in Psychoéducation, which is an exclusive discipline in Quebec similar to special care counselling. As for my academic background, I was also really commited to the student life, being the president of my class and organising many events for my program.
I also have a lot of experience working with children. I have been working as a day camp counsellor for the past seven years and I have also been teaching sports and music to children. I love working with children and I plan to do so in the future.
In my free time (yes I’ve still got some !), I love to keep  myself busy : hiking, camping, swimming, biking, name it. I really love all types of activities, particularly in the outdoors.
In general, I can say that I am outgoing, sociable, that I am generous with my time and that I love new adventures. I love challenges and I am always ready to embrace new ones!

I'm on Couchsurfing cause I really love meeting new people, but I also love learning about new cultures. When I'm travelling, I like to discover countries for what they are to the locals and not for what they are to the tourists. So I think exchanging with locals it is the best way to discover a country. So living at their place too ;)

Musica, film e libri

Movies: I love The Lord of the Rings movies since I'm ten years old. Harry Potter movies are classics that I really love too. I always love watching new movies and I love any types, except romantic ones, which there are not my favorites.
Music: I love artists as Vance Joy, Passenger, Matt Holubowski, Broken Back, Ben Howard, etc., but I love listening to canadian music as well (Les Cowboys Fringants, Louis-Jean Cormier, etc.) and to classic music like «The Arrivals of the Birds» for example, which is so good.
Books: I'm not a good reader, but I really loved some books that I read as «Aminata», «All the lights we cannot see», «La part de l'autre», «The book thief», etc.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

I volunteered for projects in Haiti and in Manawan (an aboriginal community in Quebec), in which I helped teachers with their classroom management. It was so cool and I really learn from these projects.

I really love to learn: learn about new countries, travel experiences, jobs, traditions, things that I don't know, etc. I'm a curious person and I love meeting new people especially to exchanges experiences and thoughts with them!

I used to play music (french horn, piano and cello) in the past, so I can teach you the music bases. I can also teach french, which is my first language. I can share you all my adventures, as my projects in Haiti and in Manawan and my trip to Peru, as well as the Canadian culture, particularly in Quebec. I also love working with children and I had a lot of courses on their development, if you're interested to know more about their development or behaviour disorder for example.
