Hi guys, I'm Catherine, a half Italian half English nature lover currently without a base. I lost my job back in December and decided to leave Oxford, where I had been living for the last 9 years, to go on a solo adventure around Colombia and Peru. Now that I’m back in Europe I’m doing a bit more travelling here and there with my boyfriend, both enjoying unemployment before having to go back to adulthood in September.

I love anything food and wine related, long walks (possibly accompanied by a dog), bike rides and having a chance to meet new people from different cultures/backgrounds.

I was brought up in a small, coastal town in southern Italy, Pizzo Calabro, in a family of fishermen and farmers, thus was constantly in contact with nature and fresh produce, which lead to my love for food and wine and appreciation for what nature around me has to offer.

Living in Oxford has given me the great opportunity of meeting people from all places around the world and the possibility to then travel to visit my friend’s various countries. This has now led me to sign up to Couchsurfing, as I believe being hosted by a local gives you a different perspective of the city/town compared to exploring it by your self or by simply following the typical touristic attractions.

I have a great love for food and cooking, specifically I love to learn how to cook other countries’ typical recipes. So far I’ve been able to learn some traditional Middle Eastern, Venezuelan and Indian recipes (along with Italian of course) and would love to have the chance to learn new things from hosts around the world
