Since leaving university in 2016, among other things I have spent some time at a Turkish math village, been stranded in Cairns, Australia, done linguistic fieldwork in Papua New Guinea, and lived above a church in Italy. Now I'm studying for a PhD in linguistics at the University of California, Santa Barbara

I love learning and teaching (check out this festival I cofounded and the classes I taught there https://oxford.learningu.org/teach/teachers/cscanlon/bio.html), and I would be happy to share my knowledge of psychology, linguistics, neuroscience, Old Norse, or other topics. I'd also love to learn your language or to learn more about your occupation (the other day it was really interesting visiting an olive grove and oil press, and before that I had an interesting conversation about the stresses and joys of being a railway switch operator), traditions, music and dance styles, philosophy, ideas for saving the world, etc.
