About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have good friends, eat good food, drink good beer, and make some waves.

ABOUT ME

I am a fun loving person. I love to be active and do things outdoors. My favorite thing to do however is to cook and eat with friends. Food is one of my passions and I love trying new things. I recently graduated from the University of Vermont and I am starting off 'real life' and loving it. It has given me time to explore more of the amazing things that Vermont and the rest of the world have to offer. Learning is extremely important to me and I love to do things that I can learn from and meet people who can teach me about their passions. I think one of the best ways to get to know a place is through the people that live there which is why I think CS is such a great idea. It is hard to explain my entire personality in a black and white paragraph so this is a taste and hopefully if we meet each other you will get to learn about me for yourself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I look forward to hosting more, staying with people and just hanging out with people enjoying what different areas have to offer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I tried to surf while traveling around Europe but was not particularly successful at meeting up with people. However, I did not give up hope and I just hosted my first surfer and it was AWESOME. I am looking forward to doing more hosting and traveling as well as just meeting up with awesome people through this resource.

Interests

I love to spend time outside as I said. I rowed all through college and love to be active. I really like spending time in parks, on mountains and at the beach. I also love pretty much any kind of museum whether it be art, history or anything else. One of my most favorite things is eating and cooking. My all time favorite food is Lobster but like Ron Swanson I have a top 25 list of favorite foods. I also am a big people person, I enjoy meeting new people and obviously given my career choice I enjoy hanging out with people of all ages young and old. Clearly I have a variety of interests but I think its also important that I don't have a long list of disinterests, I am open to trying most things once and love to try things that other people are passionate about.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- I am very open when it comes to music and though I love to listen to music and make music I have a terrible memory for song titles and artists.

Books- I am a big reader and try to always be reading something new. My genres of choice vary depending on what I feel like reading but I like historical fiction, mystery and nonfiction about interesting new science topics. I try to read books with some substance but sometimes I also love a good "bubblegum for the brain" book. Some of my recent favorite books include, The Kitchen House, The Hangman's Daughter, Your Brain on Food and The World Without End.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Working with children with disabilities provides me with amazing moments every single day. I could tell stories for days about the amazing things my students do, and if you want to listen I will share them all :-). Another moment that really took my breath away was when my rowing team won our championship race. The feeling of working together to achieve success was one of the most amazing things I have ever felt.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach- Information about early childhood education, how to sew, cooking skills, biology/ecology of northeastern environment, growing up in a unique way

I want to learn- more about music, a new craft, how to kite surf

I can share- what its like to be a colorblind female, my knowledge and passions
