I was brought up in three different countries, the UK, Luxembourg and Belgium, and I am never happier than when in the company of people from other countries and cultures. I have also spent many years in the international magazine publishing industry, working with publishers across the world. I love art, music, literature and history, and exploring beautiful places in other countries.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This summer, I will be travelling around Europe by Interrail with my 18 year old son, who is a musician (guitarist, pianist, singer and songwriter) before he leaves home to start at music conservatoire this autumn. He has only visited two other European countries up until now, but he loves other cultures, and he is so looking forward to this trip . Along the way, we would love to meet people, and my son also hopes to meet other music fans, and maybe even to play with other musicians.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love a wide range of music, from classical to contemporary indie/alt rock. My real passion though is for the music of the sixties, particularly psychedelic rock of the Beatles, Love and the Zombies, Dylan and the jazz of Miles Davis and John Coltrane.
My favourite films range from the Godfather series to more recent films such as 71, The Pianist and 1917, but I am greatly looking forward to the sequel of Spinal Tap! My favourite TV series of all time is Twin Peaks.
As for books, recent favourites have been A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles and All the Light we Cannot See by Anthony Doerr, but I plan soon to re-read the epic A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth.

My son is a skilled guitarist (jazz and rock), pianist (classical and pop) and singer-songwriter, and will be happy to perform for you and/or teach you some skills if you like.
My son would love to pick up some cooking skills as he is due to leave home for college in London this autumn.
