ABOUT ME

I am an open-minded learner with a desire to learn more about the world, to laugh hard with new friends, and to enjoy others' company. I love books, movies, the outdoors, my dog, and trying new things.

PHILOSOPHY

My goal is to laugh hard every day, to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, and to learn something every day whether I want to or not!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have a child-free, dog-enhanced home in an awesome location near trails, water, and lots of cool things to do in Bellingham, Wa. My home is clean and comfortable, about 3 years old, and I have two rooms with available couches, lots of parking, a hot tub, wireless, and a great neighborhood for walking and biking. Bellingham is only about 90 minutes from both Vancouver, B.C. and Seattle. The Alaska ferry docks here, and there is access to the San Juan Islands and snow sports at Mt. Baker.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I traveled the Southwest U.S. last summer and spent some nights visiting with friends (new and old). I have hosted numerous people at my house--a band, a 12-person Ultimate Frisbee Team, and many, many others. I love having guests!

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

I love anything smart and funny: David Sedaris, Amy Vowell, Chuck Klosterman, Steve Almond, all are favorite writers. Music=mainly indie rock/singer-songwriters/indie country.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last summer I traveled to eight states in 6 weeks with my dog, Frida, and completed 7 sprint-distance triathlons.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a certified personal trainer, a mediocre but able sewer, an avid reader (I can recommend a book to anyone about anything!). I speak middlin' Spanish!
