I try to always have a book in progress. Some of my favorites are Drive by Daniel Pink, The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas, Bicycle Diaries by David Byrne, and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night by Mark Haddon.

I spent a week in Belize teaching students at a trade school business and entrepreneurship skills. Starting with rough ideas we developed full-fledged business plans and worked to prepare pitches. The week ended with the students pitching their ideas to a panel of government officials that were distributing grants to help fund one of the businesses. The process of working with the students was really remarkable. I was most struck by the selflessness that was at the root of their ideas. They stemmed from serving a deep community need and many incorporated ideas to reinvest the earnings into the community.
