ABOUT ME

I'm a vegan kitchen witch who loves the smell of playa dust and photo chemistry, fairy tales, and dancing about at random. I occasionally meow.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Generally, I'm at my most comfortable in a bustling kitchen full of laughter and singing. When I have a nest, I love hosting friends and surfers, and cooking vegan feasts. When I'm travelling I love visiting new friends and old and sharing recipes and tricks.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It seems like my house is where my friends go when they need a home to curl up in. There's always someone coming or going and I love it.

I endeavor to watch television and movies intentionally - my favorites are Firefly/Serenity, Empire Records, and Labyrinth - but it takes a lot (like Muppets!) to get me into a movie theater. I've always been a bookworm and voracious reader, with a penchant for fairy tales-traditional, retold, and new - fantasy novels, and beat poetry. As for music, well if it makes my hips move and my eyes sparkle - I'm in.

2006 - Nelson, New Zealand - The vast, rolling, emerald expanse pf the NZ hills bordered by the brilliant turquoise sea!
2011 - Black Rock City, Nevada - My first view of my first Temple during my first playa sunrise from the top of my first Man.

I am an eternal student who just graduated with a BFA in photography, and therefore I have photo skills - my focus was on dark room and historical processes. I can teach, given the proper tools, Van Dyke, Cyanotype, salt printing, multiple gum bichromate, bromoil, dark room printing, and some Photoshop skills- especially how to make a digital negative. (I know Photogravure, but don't think I could teach it on my own.) I also know basic bookmaking, metalsmithing, and ceramic making. Sharing and trading craft skills is my favorite! Additionally, I love teaching and learning vegan cooking and baking!
