I was born and raised in Blumenau, a charming little German town in the south of Brazil. Later I moved to Florianópolis to study Journalism (at UFSC) and Business Administration (at UDESC). I loved the magical island, and I strongly recommend visiting it if you ever plan to visit Brazil.
Back when living in Blumenau, I was used to host people at my place, even if they were friends from the same city. Even after moving to Florianópolis, the hosting habit remained. When I heard of Couchsurfing, it was like heaven on Earth :) hosting travellers and meeting new people while exploring other places was just what I wanted to do.

Backpacking alone across Europe was a deep and insightful experience, mainly due to

Blue Lake Cave ("Gruta do Lago Azul" in Portuguese) is one of the most awe-inspiring places I've ever been to. The vivid blue color of the lake is completely different from anything I've seen in my life, and I also like the atmosphere of that place. Really worth a visit!

Doubt yourself all the time. Sometimes it can make you feel insecure, but it helps you more than it hinders.

Learn:
I'd like to know more on how to make life simpler... it seems like the harder people try to prove themselves to others, the more pointless it gets.
