About Me
ABOUT ME
When I was a kid I really enjoyed riding my bike, drawing, and cooking. Oh wait, I STILL love to do those things! I am a 21 year old art student graduating from UCSB in June, upon which date I will move to San Francisco and begin my "years off" before attempting to conquer grad school. I spend my time riding my bike (I did a fabulous bike tour from Edinburgh down to London last summer, and am looking to do more bike trips in the future) sculpting with old objects, reading, braiding my roommate's hair, being in the sun, programming on Santa Barbara's community radio station KCSB (kcsb.org - check it out) and attempting to take every day with an easy going attitude. I get along easily with nearly everyone I meet (except people who insist that The Lord of the Rings is NOT a good movie...) and am all around happy. . . which seems strange to say, but hey it is true. My plans for my life include getting a PhD so that I can say "Dr. Doyle is here" because my name has a really nice ring to it! But in all honesty, I am truly interested in academia and great discussion.
I enjoy: hot Cheetos, steak, pie, books, fantasy films, music, playing the drums, singing (Oh yeah! I am in a band!), coffee, odd jobs, bikes, cheese, the ocean, swimming, dogs, cats, fish, mints, letters, driving, milk, sleeping, OH THE LIST GOES ON!
PHILOSOPHY
I love feeling great about my days, and that usually means accomplishing that which is challenging and that which you are proud of.
Work hard, and laugh all the time! Make an effort to be around those who have an energy for hard work and making jokes. It's okay to act immature sometimes, just balance it with an ability to debate well.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am a part of Couch Surfing because I think it is a tremendous opportunity to make connections to everyone you might meet around the world, offer your home to others, and find your way more intimately to those places where you might travel. It is always more interesting to end up on a couch in a home, than on the sterile, uninviting sheets of a motel or hostel .
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have never yet couch surfed.
Interests
Being outdoors, being indoors, being in the kitchen, working and spending money on furthering my knowledge of the world or having a good time.
