I have been a freelance translator since 2010 and became a nomad in 2015.
I mostly travel through pet sitting (looking after people's pets while they're on holiday), which is - in my opinion - the absolute best way to save money while travelling!
I occasionally need a place to stay in between sits, and that's where CouchSurfing comes in handy 😀

So far I have mostly travelled around Europe, North and South America, as well as Australia and New Zealand.
I speak French, English, Italian and Spanish and always look for opportunities to practice those languages and learn new ones.

I am passionate about outdoor sports. From 2008 to 2015 I lived in a ski resort in the French Alps and went skiing/climbing/hiking on a daily basis. A couple years ago I took up running and now I'm also into scuba diving; I've just spent 2 months on the island of Utila (Honduras) to train as a PADI Divemaster. I also practice yoga (I'm planning to travel to India next year to train as a yoga teacher).

So far I've "couchsurfed" in Canada, Spain, Sweden and the US. It's very convenient when I need somewhere to stay in between house sits, but it's also a great way to meet locals and learn a bit more about the local culture.

Interessi

As I have mentioned, I spend most of my time pet sitting. I love animals. All animals, not just cats and dogs.
When I first became a nomad I went WWOOFing and volunteered on several farms, working with cows, pigs, sheep, goats, horses... Spending so much time with these animals, feeding them, cleaning their stables, petting them and cuddling them gradually led me to become vegetarian, then vegan. I have now been an animal rights' activist for three years, mostly joining "Cubes of Truth" with Anonymous for the Voiceless wherever I travel.

Musica, film e libri

I love reading and could not travel without my Kindle!

Lately I've mostly been reading self-improvement books: The Power Of Moments, The Power Of Habits, The Simple Path To Wealth, The 5AM Club... But I also like novels and travel writing (I love everything by French travel writer Sylvain Tesson).

I love watching TV series as well; my favorites (past and present) include Grey's Anatomy, GoT, Breaking Bad, Black Mirror... and a British series called Utopia.

Some of my favorite movies: Fight Club, The Green Mile, the Hannibal Lecter movies, the "Saw" movies... but I'm also a romantic and I enjoy chick flicks as well, like Love Actually :)

- I climbed Gran Paradiso (4061 m) in Italy for my 30th birthday - unforgettable!

- I've crossed the Atlantic Ocean on a cruise ship. Twice (google "Nomad Cruise"!)

- I've hitch hiked on my own in Argentina and Chile (and I survived!)

- I walked about 450 miles across France on my own in the summer of 2017 (see picture of me and my little tent in the woods)
