Hi! I’m Cécile (you get extra points if you use the é) : ). The last months I've travelled through Europe. I got hosted by so many lovely people, so now that I'm home for a little while my doors will be open for any nice guest.

I'll be travelling through Europe after summer. I will do workaways all over the continent, and citytripping in between.

I like going to museums and I love making music. I play a little bit of guitar, piano, ukulele and recorder. I’m into reading, and a little bit of writing once in a while. I also like baking (and cooking) and generally making stuff with my hands, like watercolor, woodwork and clay (although I'm not very experienced). Lately I'm really into anything to do with fabric; knitting, sewing and crocheting.
I love spending time outdoors, walking or bicycling. And at last, I’m passionate about philosophical questions, like how we could make the world a better place and how time works. Well, we might say I’m a generalist. I’m interested in the whole wide world, which sometimes it makes it hard to stay focused.
I worked two years in my first job. It sucked so I quit and saw a lot of Europe in 8 months. I've worked in marketing and my next job goal is to work in a historical/heritage organisation.

I really really love culture. Opera cities here I come! Take me to any movie (exept scary ones), theater, museum or building and I'll adore it. I always tell people to pull on my hair if I stick around too long (because that happens everytime). What are your favorites?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really like to meet new people, and hear about their lives and opinions. In cities I like to visit museums and all of historical places. And in villages I'm down for any local activity, like the show of the local theatergroup, a regular picknick or a folk dance class (Balfolk!). Any tips?

Interests

The best thing to do is to get lost. Does it make a good story? Then we must go for it! You can do that in the wildernis or on spotify : ).

Music, Movies, and Books

The Sound of Music! I really love musicals in general, also to sing them (I don't say it's good singing). Any cook- or craftsbook makes me happy : ). And am I too old for teenage books? Because they're still my favorite 😊

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This summer. There was this one night where we went swimming on a Dutch island, Terschelling, with a group of friends. It was a magical evening because there was a star/meteor shower, we could see the northern lights (if looked well enough) and the was sea sparkle (that's magical, google it!)

Teach, Learn, Share

Let's dance together! Best in a group but I can teach you some basic Balfolk dances : ). And I'm always down to do a little crochet lesson!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd love to make you curry's, chili's or anything you want me to try. I'm in the proces of making kefir and want to learn how to grow mushrooms.
Oh and if there's a tear in clothes or a button loose, I can fix it! If you have a sewing machine, I can adjust clothes a little.
