Because I find that whenever I've been couch surfing, traveling has been much more special event. Local knowledge, seeing things and places off the beaten track. Meet people!! and not just on the streets. I also find a very special relationship is established by the very act of trust which is to bring people in to your own house or vice versa. It's like you've known these people forever.
