About Me

Hi! I am a student from the United States taking a year to travel and work between secondary school and university. I began my traveling last September in Europe where I worked on organic farms and then continued my travels earlier this year in South America doing the same. I am going to be studying sustainability and environmental sciences at University so I have been trying to gain as much hands on experience with that while traveling abroad. My goal is to eventually become a lawyer who works in the field of human rights regarding environmental issues. I am friendly, enthusiastic and adventure loving and I really look forward to meeting all kinds of new people via Couchsurfing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I want to connect with people all over the world who share interests and also offer different perspectives on life so as to come away from the experience with more knowledge.

Interests

My interests extend from physics to classical mythology and history. I also love singing, cooking, reading, writing, rowing, hiking and climbing mountains, and just exploring in general.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I love ska, punk, classic rock, indie, funk and folk music from all over the world

Books: I always have a book in hand and that being said, my favorite books change all the time. However, ones that have really stuck with me are Hocus Pocus by Kurt Vonnegut, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, The Opposite of Loneliness by Marina Keegan and all short stories by F.Scott Fitzgerald who I share the same birthday with exactly 100 years apart.

Favorite Movies: Fight Club, Amelie, Midnight in Paris and Hermano

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My third year of high school right before one of my rowing races was about to start my boat and I saved a drowning man and his dog by pulling them from the river and bringing them to shore. And we still won second place.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would really love to improve my Spanish! And I am willing to teach and share any skills that people find of interest to know.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I absolutely adore cooking and I would love to prepare some meals together! I think cooking is always best when it is a shared experience.
