About Me

I mostly host volunteers these days, people who are willing to stay for 3 days or more and give a few hours in the garden or the kitchen or the internet. if this is you, just answer one question: What does Ráiméis mean in your native language

I love onesies! Especially animal onesies... got 19 of them. if the house is freezing, you can borrow a onesie. I am currently in a very active and motivated phase of my hippie life come find out if i am mad or a genius. Polite and kind, wise but daft, colourful and odd. relaxed, inviting, curious, wholehearted, enchanting, up-in-the-sky-down-to-earth guy. love meeting new people and making new friends. a tall Irishman with lots of interesting tales to tell and places to show. And projects to help on. I am taken with the idea of making the world a better place, one smartphone at a time.

Actually this is copy&pasta from my references, so read more there :)

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I have hosted a lot; I love surfing. I usually travel with my Assistance Dog. She is a lover not a fighter
I encourage people to get involved in trustroots.org, where the core values still put travellers first
i spend more time on volunteer sites nowadays; if you know the volunteer spirit, you will know how to get my interest.

Couchsurfing was sold in August 2011 and it isn't getting better since. Every bit of the website worked better before. But it didn't have half as much bling. Maybe one day we'll have bling and functionality :) To be fair, at least it is easier to friend someone now, without being give the third degree. AND they have said that they will add features shortly. BUT they have told volunteers that C$ is no place for them, so it is no place for me. such a waste of brand value. Take me to your nimwits

philanthropy rainbows eclectic confused from metaphysical to cooperative; "making things better by ourselves" writing chatting thinking doing... sometimes very slowly; reading laughing chocolate icecream refined sugar; organic salads of herbs weeds leaves and chinese lanterns; megalithic monuments prechristian Ireland driving on narrow roads dressing up 1984 (look at us all voluntarily growing a Big Brother houseplant in our own wifi hotspots) bright colours wearing a suit once a year reiki Brave New World kila Assistance Dogs

I would love to see a real not-for-profit hostpitality organisation thrive ... only bewelcome.org was my favourite, and trustroots.org has less history holding it back. I be Celtic.Tiger over theres too. Also on helpx, volunteerbase, workaway, etc

One Amazing Thing I've Done

i've been terrorised and bullied a number of times by police and other randoms picking fights with me. Just recently a prospective host said: " "... actually it's too sad to retype; ask John Carty what he said; he maintains he has a right to be abusive to unemployed Irish people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I do laughter yoga workouts (laughter therapy http://www.laughteryoga.org/) Get me a group of people and we can do one together!
I have discovered how to organise myself and may have some interesting suggestions about how nomads can make money on the road. these techniques i show people who cut hedges, get firewood and cook lovely food.
I like to practice the languages I know.

I want to learn about language teaching shortcuts, standup comedy and creative writing. I wanted to write a book or something, but i've got a short attention spa-
And to get to the point more quickly.

What I Can Share With Hosts

I am full of stories; i try to take a share in housework without being asked... I like to bring something that we both can enjoy... let me know what you think that might be if it is not obvious from your profile
