I have a horrible attention span, which is extremely detrimental in my personal life...however my interest in just about anything means that if you are passionate about something you can probably get me to be too.

PHILOSOPHY

Philosophy for myself:

To make a bunch of awesome stories that I can tell people when I am a grumpy old man sitting in a rocking chair on my porch.

My philosophy regarding others:

Kindness and honesty. If you always give people the benefit of the doubt, and you are always honest and open when dealing with people, you will find out the most and bring out the best in people. Not everyone may like you, but then not everyone will...better to find out sooner rather than later.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been couchsurfing for well over a decade, though often not formally through this website. I love couchsurfing and it's the best way to travel. Sadly, I travel a lot for work and the places I've lived are not tourist destinations so I haven't hosted anyone. I would love to though!

Intereses

Law, health, physical fitness and performance, rock climbing, grappling sports, economics, history, linguistics, biopsychology, stage magic, hypnotism, nutrition, the harmonica, lockpicking, lucid dreaming, stuff that gets my adrenaline going.

All movies, folk music, nonfiction mostly.

Saw multiple commercial-grade fireworks go off 20 feet from my Chinese apartment building (see pictures).

I once made $1100 from an email scam artist who was trying to scam me.

Made a very ill-advised and kind of accidental to the bottom of the Grand Canyon at night in the middle of winter. Despite being in the south of the USA, Arizona can get quite cold.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I am an Eagle Scout so I can teach you how to do many outdoorsy things if you are so inclined. I can also rap verses 1 and 2 (and part of 4) of BTNH's Notorious Thugs.
