About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live life to the absolute fullest!

ABOUT ME

I am an Arizona girl currently living on the east coast in Raleigh, NC. I love adventures of all kinds and I believe that couch surfing is a wonderful way to meet fellow adventurers. I'm always up for meeting new surfers and now that I have a fellow couch surfer as a roommate I am looking forward to hosting people as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been blessed to surf with wonderful couch surfing hosts. Each time I couch surf I feel that I have insight to the culture of the place that I am visiting that I would not have experienced otherwise. I am excited to be able to show people the same amazing hospitality that I have been shown while surfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch surfed for the first time in Mendoza, Argentina in Spring 2010. Later that same year I moved to Raleigh, NC from Arizona and needed a place to stay for a couple of days before getting settled in so I couch surfed again. The girl I couch surfed with and I really hit it off, so much so in fact that we are now roommates! The most recent couch surfing experience I had was this past summer, May '11, when my boyfriend and I went to Trinidad and Tobago. Our host in New York was incredibly helpful and laid out an extensive tour of the city for us. And our host in Trinidad literally made our trip extraordinary. I am so grateful to the people who have welcomed me into their homes and I am excited to get to return the favor!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This may sound silly but one day I woke up and decided that I wanted to learn the Tango. And not just from any teacher, I wanted to learn it from a porteño (a person from Buenos Aires). So in the spring of 2010 I moved to Buenos Aires and started taking Tango lessons. I found myself a Porteño teacher and a French dance partner and three weeks later I actually understood some of the moves. The amazing thing though, was the moment that I finally strung those moves together successfully for the first time. I did this while dancing on a roof top of a 10 story building in downtown Buenos Aires at sunset. Life has been good to me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I perpetually hunger for knowledge. When surfing I always love learning about the culture of the place I am visiting because I feel that I can connect with the locals on a deeper level. I also love teaching others and whether its English Grammar, Salsa dancing or vegetarian cooking, I would be happy to share any knowledge I possess with fellow surfers.
