I grew up in Wales, lived in England from when I was 18, and then in June 2016 quit my job to travel the Americas with my girlfriend. We are still on the road!

In the first 9 months of our trip, we explored South America, enjoyed the Olympics in Brazil, visited the Galápagos and spent 2 months in the city of Arequipa, Peru, volunteering with a local charity. We then spent 2 months exploring central America with family and friends. Since May 2017 we have been travelling the Caribbean and have spent the last 7 weeks on a lovely Swedish man's sail boat, whom we met online. An amazing experience!

We have 6 weeks left on our trip and we plan to spend it seeing what the US of A has to offer. Exploring Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Nevada and California and their natural wonders, by car, bike and bus. It would be amazing if you could welcome us into your home to show us what US hospitality is all about!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Having heard a lot about Couchsurfing from friends, and having had it recommended so many times as the best way to get to know a place, it was about time I joined up and tried it out.

Having lived in central London for 15 months with my girlfriend, it felt like we were putting people up every weekend. We really enjoyed showing friends around the amazing city, so we've been followers of Couchsurfing unofficially for quite a while. When we finish travelling and return to the UK to live, we hope to welcome official Couchsurfers to our home as well, wherever that might be.

Interests

Music - I play the guitar and sing.

Languages - I'm conversational in Spanish and speak Welsh and English fluently.

Sport - Rugby and Ultimate frisbee are some of my favourites to play.

Travel - The 2 week holidays just weren't enough so I quit my job to travel the New World.

Adventure - Love trying new adventurous things such as rafting, kayaking and rock climbing. Recently sailed the Caribbean for 7 weeks. While at University, I was in the Royal Air Force Reserve so got to do a lot of this stuff as well as learn to fly a 2 man plane!

Food and drink - Love to socialise over dinner, and have a soft spot for apple cider, by far my favourite alcoholic beverage.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - Eclectic taste, favourite band is Iron & Wine, love karaoke as well as chilling with a group of friends with a guitar and some drinks.

Books - Big Harry Potter fan, starting to read more non fiction books to find my calling.

Movies - Into the Wild is one of my favourite inspirational films, especially when it comes to travel.

Both bungee jumped and skydived in 24 hours.

Teach, Learn, Share

Would love to teach a bit of Guitar, Ultimate Frisbee and even some Welsh language if interested! Would also enjoy practicing other languages, Spanish in particular. I love to learn new things and develop myself so am open to anything.

Having visited most of South and Central America, as well as many parts of Europe and the Caribbean, I love giving tips and advice to those eager o travel!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a half decent cook so would very much like to put something together for hosts. If there's a guitar around I'd love to lead a sing-a-long. Otherwise, I can hopefully provide a burst of fun while spreading the word on my beloved home country, Wales.
