Overview
About Me
I'm a high school English teacher (ages 14-18), a musician, a reader, and creator of things. I teach literature and language and my school will begin the process of becoming an International Baccalaureate school. I love live music and am always interested in hearing intriguing voices and captivating artists.
Right now my life is about finding balance and staying inspired. After teaching for the past ten years, I'm realizing how much I need to be traveling and seeing more of the world. I've neglected the things that make me excited about the world: exploration and inquiry.
I grew up in a bicultural family (my mother is from Spain and my father is from The United States). We grew up mostly speaking French and Spanish, although now I mainly speak English (and teach it too!).
I like to ride my bike around town, think about teaching/education, listen to the radio, listen to lots of music, make food and have friends over for dinner.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love and appreciate connecting with people in the places that they love - my favorite moments are those when locals share their culture, perspectives, and a bit of their home cities (and I like to do the same for visitors). In the past I hosted when I lived outside of Washington D.C. and stayed at a few places in the southern United States. I hope to start hosting again in Ann Arbor, MI.
