About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To not sound lame in my Couch Surfing profile. How am I doing?

ABOUT ME

Um... ok, self description... (Writing this seems a little egocentric, no?)... Although I've seen enough low-grade horror movies to know how to hypothetically survive a post-apocalyptic zombie attack, in reality, I'd be useless with any type of weaponry. I love board games, am highly permeable to the red-eye phenomenon in photographs, and have a knack for selecting the absolutely slowest line at the super market. I'll admit that I'm willing to do terrible, disgusting, unforgivable things, for a slice of birthday cake. Also, I'm kinda, sorta in love with Dos Equis' most interesting man in the world.

PHILOSOPHY

"I like nonfiction. There is so much to learn about this world. If you read something that someone just made up, it's a waste of time."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to this site. So, at this time, it's all theoretical. As of right now, my main goal is to find nice people who might not mind my crashing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Met some great people through surfing and hosting, while I lived in Europe. I'd love to give it another shot.

Interests

I adore themed movie marathons. Themed anything, really. And I'm a total sucker for costume parties.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh, lord. I dread this question.

Movie: Harold & Maude, anything Tarantino, documentaries, mockumentaries, Dawn of the Dead (any version), The Strangers, The Room, anything with a Riff Track.

Music: Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Daniel Johnston, Sam Cooke, most Motown, that kid from The Parking Lot Movie (he's pretty rad), Chromeo, and stuff by aging/bearded indie guys

Books: I can't explain why, but the book question seems a tad personal. I'll just say nonfiction books about color theory, salt, scrabble, etc., and the occasional Palahniuk

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Haha, this section sounds a little like, "Let me tell you how awesome I am!" Pass. At least for now.

Teach, Learn, Share

Let's see. What can I teach you?... How to fake a French accent, how to send the most fun snail mail ever, how to take it like a man, the origin of common idioms, how to speak Farsi, how to pretend you're cooler than you really are. (Side note: Farsi is not a listed language, in this site's language directory.)
