About Me

ABOUT ME
In all our travels Tom and I always come home talking about the PEOPLE we connected with. Of course we love to look at the beautiful photos and remember all the incredible scenes that we feasted our eyes on. But, we are touched by the connection with other travelers and locals we meet along the way.
We enjoy visitors and appreciate what they bring to our life experiences.
We are active and enjoy hiking, swimming, boarding, kayaking, golf, and walking. Tom is the one who speaks all the languages. I speak German in addition to English as well as ASL (rusty).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We appreciate meeting people who, because of their generosity and adventurous spirit, have opened their home for Couch Surfers. They are a special people and we love connecting with them. We don't expect it but it is a bonus if all parties have a little time to get acquainted.
As hosts, we want to help travelers who are on a tight budget, and who appreciate what we have to offer. When time permits we are happy to take our guests snorkeling, bicycling, and swimming. If they have their own agenda that is fine too.

Interests

Hiking, tennis, golf, swimming, pickleball, photography, frisbee, travel, grandchildren.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite Books: Molokai'i by Alan Brennert; Peace is every Step by Thich Nhat Hanh; Non-violent Communication by Marshall Rosenberg;
Movies: "Men of Honor" with Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise, Women in Gold; Hidden Figures

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the birth of our children, seeing a whale underwater for the first time, being in Madrid Spain when they played Germany in the semi-final World Cup Soccer and won, 2010.

Teach, Learn, Share

We are certainly open for sharing a big green salad (our favorite dish), and perhaps a vegetarian dish. My husband makes a good salad quickly and a good dressing to go with it. Spending time with our guests is something we value and have discovered most of our guests become friends.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Tom and I are both curious about other people and enjoy hearing their 'story' if they care to share. We can share skills for problem solving and enhanced communication.
