ABOUT ME

Travelling has taught me a lot about myself and about others, too. It opened my eyes beyond the valley that I grew up in, and made me want to explore more. BUT I've been thinking about this quote by Augustine everytime I meet fellow travelers and try to know them beyond the travel talks:

"People travel to wonder at the height of the mountains, at the huge waves of the seas, at the long course of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motion of the stars, and yet they pass by themselves without wondering."

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

by meeting/hosting fellow CSers and to be able to learn and share stories or thoughts over a drink, a sumptuous meal or while on the road to our next destination.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Met and traveled with fellow CSers and hosted some CS travelers in Bangkok where I lived for a year.
Experienced hosting and also attending CS meetings in Singapore. It has been a joy knowing all sorts of people and listening to their stories. I'm hoping that we can get pass the usual "where are you from?, what do you do? where have you been?".

Experiencing the Islamic City of Marawi, Philippines.
Holding my sister's baby.
Organized 7days of rediscovering North Philippines (8 provinces, 1798kms) with Filipino travel bloggers/writers
Sharing a cup of tea with a friend during a serene sunset moment in Boudhanath, Kathmandu, Nepal.

Teach: Tagalog/Ilocano/Bisaya (Philippine languages), some Thai and German that I learned, the proper way of washing your clothes, haggling, basic emergency procedures, silly dance moves, easy way to destress

Learn: seriously, a loooot! I'm like spongebob... absorbing new things when I listen to people and taking a mental note to learn more about it if it piques my interest.

Share: my food, happy thoughts, my counter pain ointment among others
