In California where I grew up I became a machinist at age 20, where I worked for a weapons of defense dept fabricating helicopter parts/components for the military. I made good money but something was missing, my soul was not getting the fulfillment it desired. At age 27 I felt strongly called to Hawaii to experience where i was born and to have an adventure of sorts. I sold most my stuff and bought a one way ticket to Honolulu and enrolled myself in business classes at Heald. (Within the year Heald sold out and closed down.) Shortly after that i learned my true reason for getting the inner calling to Oahu when i went through a huge spiritual awakening. My purpose for life was revealed to me. The real adventure started at this point. I also had much inner healing and learning to face and lots of service to give. 3 1/2 years later, here I AM.

I joined Couchsurfing because I really feel this is the best way to travel and visit new places. What a cool way to meet like minded people who share the same openness and joy of traveling and getting the authentic experience. Staying with good hearted locals beats a hotel every time! And then hey I'm able to pay it forward by hosting for travelers that are coming to my neck of the woods, keeping a flow of good vibes and energy circulating. That's just the kind of planet i want to live on. Living by example and being the change id like to see is how to bring it about (in my opinion).
