About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find joy in the little things. To offer the benefit of a doubt. Starting again each day. To offer energy to the situation in some small way. Trying to find Home; confused by all the Noise.

ABOUT ME

Part time in Arizona/ Part time in Oregon

I'm now 51, gay, playful, shy, not-too-bad, questioning person---not religious, like to meditate , walk if its not too far, be in the sun, cross even if it says dont walk. Lately concerned, seeing the conspiracies, ---->keep looking at the trees. A little yoga---or at least some sun salutations always feel right.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Some day if I ever have a house, I would love to host guests.
In the winter season I live off the grid in a trailer (and love it)...very very rural. Would welcome campers!, but have no real indoor space, but the floor.

For now I'm traveling to the UK for a couple weeks here in Sept (2017), and would like to plug-in...maybe couchsurfing can help :)

Interests

growing plants;
edit 9/17: right now it's raspberry (and still blackberry) season here in Oregon. love, love getting up early and picking berries, dropping them in a little yogurt...yes.

have raised chickens, now (9/17) have ducks; alternative medicine (esp bioresonance), alternative energy; conspiracy theories; learning to try again each morning; walking lightly; simplification.

Been drinking water keffir lately (which hits the spot, esp on a hot day). I like it when I can grind my own flours/corn meal. I have a wondermill for that, a hand-crank country-living grain mill (which has fallen into disuse since I got the electric), and an awesome greenpower juicer. ....but I'm not strict with diet; I eat most anything, esp when with friends...and my sticks and berries, too :)

have opinions about conpiracies; perhaps the world does not work the way we think

lost wisdom of some characters---Viktor Schauberger, royal rife

also have a techie side. I like DIY projects (like my experimental duckquaponics system and my experimental duck house earth plaster-over-chickenwire projects), but lately I've been feeling it wise to keep things simple and not get drawn into too many distractions

like trying new foods (with the exception of raw-ish meats).

Music, Movies, and Books

Lemony Snickets; Farscape; Contact; BattleStar Galactica!

edit 9/17: whoa this is old. let's see..what can I add? I dont see too many movies..the last I remember that was pretty fun was Miss Peregrins Home for Peculiars (something like that). When I'm in Oregon, I watch tv once a week with my Mom. We both liked The Good Wife when that was on. Then we got into Midsommer Murders for a little tongue-in-cheek mystery...like the characters. Lately we cant find anything, but have been trying Inspector Lynsley, which is good-to-soso.

Basically I like mysteries and scifi...so long as it's not too violent (I make exceptions, of course!). And sometimes kid-fantasies like Harry Potter.

The last book I remember reading was the Cloud Atlas. I'll get to read more when I'm back in Arizona this fall

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Got my acupuncture/herbology license. Chinese med school was a fantastic experience and my classmates were the best people anyone could wanna meet.

Teach, Learn, Share

This weekend I'm going to try making some blue [indigo] dye out of woad, using the 'natural method'. I grew woad for it's value as a chinese medical herb, but I learned that this is a big dyer's plant, so I'm gonna see how that works.

Countries I’ve Visited

Greece, Indonesia, Malaysia
