About Me
Hey there,
My name is Çağdaş, but since it's easier to remember everybody calls me Cha.
I love to explore the world, meet new people, and dive into different cultures. For me traveling means to discover new places and having conversations with locals about life and work in a country I visit.
Food is a big part of my journey. Not only because I love trying new dishes and experience local cuisines. It is also a big part of cultural experience. At the same time, I believe in being mindful about what I eat, especially when it comes to animal products. I’m not a vegetarian, but I think we don’t need to eat meat every day to enjoy a good meal.
I’m not the most skilled when it comes to handiwork, but I would love to learn more practical skills like woodworking, construction, and similar crafts. l’m also really into tech and media, but I don't need to own the newest gadgets to enjoy our technological developments. Learning new things excites me, whether it's through a deep conversation, reading, or just experiencing life from different perspectives.
I really enjoy spending time with others, sharing laughs and stories over good food or drinks or playing board games. But I also value my alone time to get lost in my thoughts, read something and just recharge my social batteries.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Traveling is all about experiencing new places and immersing myself in different cultures. I do this by trying new foods, talking to locals, and learning about the people who make each place unique. Couchsurfing offers a deeper, more personal way to connect with people from around the world, share experiences and stories, and appreciate the diverse cultures and cuisines our planet has to offer.
Interests
I like being in good company, watch tv shows and movies, try to learn new things, go out for a walk, travel and see new places and cultures. I enjoy photography here and there. Owned a camera until I lost it while hitchhiking in Patagonia.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don’t read as much as I used to, but when I do, I love getting lost in Sci-Fi and Fantasy. There’s something exciting about diving into other worlds, whether it’s futuristic or magical. Every now and then, I also enjoy a good Thriller to keep things thrilling.
I really enjoy listening to music, and I don't have a specific taste – it all depends on my mood and what I'm doing. Sometimes, I find myself drawn to rock, but I also love discovering new genres. Recently, I’ve gotten into lo-fi, which I find super relaxing, especially when I'm working and need to stay focused.
I'm a big fan of movies and TV-Shows. And I enjoy a wide range of genres – from Sci-Fi and Fantasy to comedy, action, and thrillers. There's always something for every mood.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A great thing I did with my girlfriend was travel through a country with just a tent and a scooter, experiencing incredible hospitality along the way. Except for three nights when I was sick, I never needed to book accommodation because the locals always found a spot for my tent – whether it was on the roof of a 4-star hotel in the mountains, in the backyard of the local police station, or on a temple grounds.
Hitchhiked on a sailing boat over the Beagle Channel. I was allowed to steer the boat. Loved it, and now I want a sailing license!
Teach, Learn, Share
I love having talks about different topics and learn and tell interesting facts. I enjoy being surrounded by talented and smart people and learn from them. If there's something I could teach or show someone I am always happy to do so.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’m a curious person who loves to talk about just about anything, so be prepared for lots of questions about you, your area and your country. While I’m not the best chef, I enjoy cooking and eating together. I’m always happy to share what I know and learn from others. Overall, I’d say I’m open to just about anything!
