basic:
i'm 27. currently working on my doctoral degree in sociology. i work as a researcher and an instructor of sociology at nc state university. i speak english, but i'm learning spanish and know a little as well (although i have limited confidence in my speaking ability). i was born and raised in brooklyn, but i have spent half of my teenage years in rural north carolina. thus, i have an interesting accent that gets picked on often. lol.

somewhat overshare:
i'm awkward. but so is everyone. i love to read and write (although i haven't had much time for writing lately). i have two pets (a dog - odin; a cat - april ludgate). that said, i like mockumentaries and superheros/mythology/ancient religions (which i'm learning more about). i cook - mostly out of necessity, but sometimes out of love and enjoyment.

traveling style:
i believe traveling requires naps and i take naps during the day. :-). i usually keep to myself. i'm awkward, but i've learned to embrace it (did i say that already?). i also believe traveling is a good time to go thrifting because you'll never know what you'll find. i'd say that 85% of my wardrobe are used items.

as a graduate student, i don't have a lot of money for hotels, but my job requires that i go to conferences to network so that one day i can have a lot of money for hotels. so that's one reason why i'm interested in couch surfing.

i'm also just interested in saving money lol.
