About Me
Prepare for a really long text as I am unable to make it brief (sorry not sorry).
As you can probably tell, my name is Chantal and I am an 18-year-old girl from West Germany. Me and a friend of mine just started our year abroad, discovering the beautiful country New Zealand. To strangers I may appear a little bit shy and quiet but this will change when you get to know me better. I'm interested in a lot of things, including animals, nature, traveling and different cultures. On the other hand, I'm a total book nerd and love spending my day reading in bed or binge watching series. For this reason I am open to learn and try new exciting things (and food! I love food) but I'm also more than satisfied staying at home just having a conversation.
Feel free to check out my profile for further information and send me a message. I'll try to respond immediately! C U :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to meet new people with interesting personalities (such as yours, person reading this :D). Because I am very open minded I look forward to meet everyone who wants to share their story. Also I looooove languages, traditions and all that cultural stuff, so during my year abroad I wanna get to know as much as possible about different cultures and lifestyles. In my opinion, couchsurfing is easiest and best way to find those people and benefit from the experiences they've made.

Music, Movies, and Books
First things first: Ed Sheeran is the best musician in the world and you can't fight me on this (in case you're also a fan: My favourite songs are I'm a mess and Give me love). My music taste may sound boring to others, but I really enjoy normal pop music. But that doesn't mean I have anything against other genres so feel free to convince me otherwise.
I'm not that much into films since I prefer series. But I really love the hunger game movies and for series my favourites are probably the100, Game of Thrones and MY FAVOURITE SERIES EVER Sherlock (BBC).
If you are a huge book lover like me you know that there is no such thing as a favourite book because it's like picking your favourite child: Impossible. Some I really love are "The Violet Eden chapters" by Jessica Shirvington (I doubt you know them because they're really unpopular, but maybe I'm lucky and you have), "The infernal devices" by Cassandra Clare, "The Luna chronicals" by Marissa Meyer, "Shatter me" by Tahereh Mafi and everything written by Colleen Hoover.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I made all of my best memories abroad. I've spent much time as an exchange student in different host families in France, including North France, la bretagne (I think in english it's brittany?) and la côte d'azur. Last year I also spent some time in Poland with some people from my school participating at an European seminar called "Discover Europe". We spent the whole day talking to Polish and Czech students, learing about our cultural differences, discussing our future plans, eating very delicious food and it was one of the best weeks of my entire life.
