ABOUT ME

Me: I'm Chantry, been in the US Navy for a bit, currently living in Maryland near DC.

Arilynn: Six years old, tons of energy, typically outgoing and eager to experience the world around her.

Jacob: Five years old, zest for life, a little more shy, and loves to learn and examine things.

Melina: Our Au Pair from Germany, wonderful with the children, having a great time in the US, really feels like a part of the family.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My main goal here is to host so that my children can meet people from all over the world. As a single Dad, I am working constantly to expose Arilynn and Jacob to new and exciting things. Maybe you'd like to come crash on our couch and meet my little ones? :-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While living in Monterey we hosted a few times, and they were fantastic experiences! We look forward to hosting more people as time goes on to give our children and ourselves the chance to meet knew people and see the world in new ways. :-)

I have not yet surfed any couches myself.

兴趣

Me: Love to read, write, and spend time with my family. Known to play video games on occasion, working on a Masters Degree, travel a good bit when I can. I'm pretty diverse, it'd be tough to fit it in this little box...

My Children: Come stay with us to find out. ;-)

Books: Some favorites include: George R. R. Martin, Song of Ice and Fire, Orson Scott Card; gravitate towards Sci-fi and Fantasy (because that's what I write), but I like to think outside the genre box.

Movies: I get out to the theater once in a while, but watch quite a few movies in our basement movie room. 106" screen, surround sound... So fun! Love some of the comedy classics, like Office Space, and movies that make you think, like The Usual Suspects.

Music: Pretty easy going on Music. Listen to a lot of pop music, some classical. And things that my children like, too.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Saw my ex-wife give birth. Twice. I've gone sky-diving, scuba-diving, and tried nearly everything in between. But the most amazing thing: My two wonderful children. Cheesy? Perhaps. True? Absolutely.

教，学，和分享

I pride myself on being a jack-of-all trades. I can teach you how to survive a plague of zombies, run a nuclear reactor, fly a plane, play a piano, and all manner of other useless things. I have traveled a good deal, and have a lot of life experience to share. I can teach someone to love themselves if they are hurt or broken, but that probably won't come up during a couchsurfing stay, ha ha.

Hmm... If I'm sleeping on your couch I'm probably traveling alone. Maybe I could clean your dishes or help you with your taxes. I really am a Jack-of-All-Trades, so pretty much whatever comes up I can do it or learn it very quickly. I'm also great at fixing things, and maybe I can change that hard-to-reach light bulb for you. :-)
