ABOUT ME

I'm a recent college grad in political science. I love contemporary political philosophy that permeates many disciplines. I love reading about philosophy of cooking and food. I love learning about and experiencing life through different lenses ranging form buddhism to surrealism.

I love simply to enjoy myself and have a good time, but sometimes "enjoyment" can take many different forms. Somethings are hard and the struggles are what elevates the human psyche to a level that can enjoy or appreciate the world at a higher level. I'm hoping to follow my life's interests as they allow me to pursue happiness.

PHILOSOPHY

I think I filled this out in the about me but to expand I believe in the practice of play, that all philosophy should begin with practice, and play is the most creative of all practices. I believe in building discourses within small communities that can handle and share coherent yet complex and unique concepts. I believe capitalism is bad and is ruining culture and people. Howewver, I do enjoy luxury.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Would like to get involved in surfing and hosting because I absolutely hate touristy stuff and I prefer to see amazing, unexpected things that are better found with people who know how to best live somewhere.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have a couple friends who are very involved, they got me into this site. I've only met and hung out with their surfers and heard their stories but it seems like an amazing community

Music, Movies, and Books

I can't do these. WAYYY too many and I'm fairly non-hierarchical with this stuff. It's sort of a HUGE list of an expression of artifacts that build me but there's so many and such a wide range in this modern world that it's really hard to pick favorites. Some people might call me a hipster though, so you can use that as a frame of reference.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

God. I swear couchsurfing is run by a team of psychologists or something. I don't do this shit seriously. I've started and ran a very successful supper club in Portland, backpacked for a month in Death Valley, helped design a cafe in SF ferry plaza, maybe the most recent achievement was finishing my BA Thesis on new culinary discourses in policy.
