About Me

I'm from a prominent Navajo tribe in New Mexico. I grew up speaking English and brought up Christian, converted to Catholicism and then got reacquainted with earth based spiritual practice. I'm a Marine Corps Veteran and I've been married (happily divorced, no children) and played a motherly role. I've learned a great deal of lessons in life and have finally gotten reacquainted with my roots by taking the time to learn about my bloodline and cultural traditions. I've realized how beautiful and integral my native language plays in my existence so I'm going to learn it. I've worked and gone to school since I was 21. I'm independent, motivated, strong-willed and self-disciplined. I love to motivate others. I feel fitness plays a major part in our self-love, its an empowering healing and health sustenance. Sober person, learning to show up more in life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm not couchsurfing yet but I came across this community and thought it was interesting. I'm reconsidering things in my life right now and allowing this to be an option as a way to save money or have a place to stay as I am transitioning between professions and my next place to live.

Trust and respect is all we need in any relationship.

Interests

I love to run. It's like a breathe of fresh air. Running has been my therapy for years.
It allowed me to be an awesome Marine and it taught me how to respect and care for my body. When I'm not running I would be taking classes, for now, I read when I get a chance. I like to read books that are empowering, self-help, control, self-discipline. I like books that allow me to change my mentality about my day to day behavior and outlook. I love salsa and bachata! I love learning about other cultures and would love to travel more. I like to help people and give them encouraging words. Words are powerful and we could all use some encouragement.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lately my favorite music has been Native American music, I'm intrigued by the language and their voices; there's so much spirit with it and I feel connected. I also enjoy anything that sounds good. At work I just listen to guitar radio, I love the sound of guitars. General artists I love: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gwen Stefani (Mostly No Doubt era), The Black Keys, Anthony Hamilton, Erykah Badu, Ciara, Cassie, Jhene Aiko, Ellie Goulding, and I love Bachata and Salsa music. Women Who Run With the Wolves by Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes is everything!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ran the Marine Corps Marathon in DC in 2006.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach mental aptitude when it comes to physical challenges. I can share encouragement and motivation. I have a good understanding of how mind, body, and spirit are integral components to balance. I'm great at providing analogies for people to understand where I'm coming from (Or so I think, maybe you can provide me some feedback). I'm willing to learn new lessons from you, we may encounter each other for a reason.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A caring heart. I'm a compassionate person that does my best to understand all walks of life.
