CURRENT MISSION

I'm currently looking to explore my heritage and couchsurfing with a trip to Morocco and Spain - as soon as I am capable I would like to give back to the couchsurfing community!

ABOUT ME

I am spontaneous and I am always happier when busy and active, but I also appreciate slowing down and just taking things in. I am also low maintenance and always willing to help out! I hope to work one day in the sciences, but I have always been fascinated with anthropology/religious studies and the experience of new cultures. I am American-born but my father is of Moroccan/Spanish origin. I closely identify myself with this heritage, but as of May 2013 I have never visited either of these places. I want to understand and experiences these countries as much as 6 weeks will allow.

PHILOSOPHY

All experiences, good or bad, are learning experiences. If it can be fixed with money or water, it's not a real problem.

I work at my university in outdoor recreation. My favorite outdoor activities are snowboarding, canoeing/kayaking, backpacking, hiking, and climbing. I perform research in genetics, as well as religious studies. Other interests include: video recording/editing (I record all of my adventures), weight lifting, basketball (I'm better at watching than playing), and finding places with a view.

Music: Everything from rock n roll to R&B to chill wave, hip hop, indie, electronic, french house, 60s and 70s soul and funk, etc. To name a few: Pavement, Weezer, The Strokes, Frank Ocean, Kanye West, Miguel, Foo Fighters, Daft Punk, Radiohead, Kendrick Lamar, Phoenix, ASAP Rocky, Real Estate, Beach House, and more.

Movies: All zombie and horror movies (both good and bad), but I enjoy all genres. The bourne and lord of the rings trilogies.
