I grew up in the paved swamps of South Florida and moved to South Carolina a few years ago after grad school. I was lured to South Carolina by a job offer working as an epidemiologist for the state health department. In short, I am responsible for the tracking and control of communicable diseases and outbreaks. I'm very passionate about my work and about improving public health.

Since moving to South Carolina, my outdoorsy side has been awakened and I've gotten really into hiking and kayaking. I'm also a huge comedy fan and have gotten into the act myself and having started doing improv and stand-up comedy.

I love traveling and broadening my world view. I'm always up for meeting new people from different walks of life and learning from their knowledge and experiences.
