I’m Charlie! I live in Arlington, VA, with my dog, Lucy. Arlington is a quick drive or Metro ride to DC, and I love its safety, walkability, and diversity, along with the great food and drink options. I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, live music, and exploring fashion. I also like film, exercise, reading, and writing—anything creative and meaningful.

Recently, I shifted from technology to social work and am pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Before this, I taught elementary school in Thailand and worked as a social worker in India, supporting at-risk youth.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’ve had nothing but meaningful and enriching experiences through Couchsurfing. It’s allowed me to form lifelong friendships and explore new places through the perspective of locals. I’m on Couchsurfing because I want to pay that experience forward. I truly enjoy hosting, welcoming new visitors to Washington, D.C., and sharing in the exchange of cultures and customs. In a world filled with challenges, I believe the least we can do is open our doors to one another, offering a safe space and creating lasting memories together.
