ABOUT ME

Más que todo me gusta aprender sobre cosas: la filosofia; la historia; musica; cómo bailar; y, especialmente, me encanta escuchar sobre las vidas de diversas personas y sus distintas historias.

Well, more than anything else I love learning about things: philosophy; history; music; dancing; and, especially, I love hearing about different people's lives and their individual stories.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Llevo 2 años conociendo gente por couchsurfing. Re lindo.

兴趣

Escribir: sería buenisimo ser escritor. Los autores que leo y vuelvo a leer son Malcolm Lowry, William Faulkner, Garcia Marquez y Borges. (Y J.K. Rowling, obvio).

Peliculas: podría pasar días lindos charlando sobre Kubrick.

La filosofia: no me aburre charlar sobre cosas que no parecen tan utiles.

Musica: toco el piano y toqué el sax (y estoy aprendiendo la guitarra). Me gusta mucha de la musica de Sudamérica, especialmente samba, aunque odio 'latino americano', que me parece ser popular en Peru y Bolivia. Tambien me gustan el jazz, un poco de electronica, dub-step, y musica clasica.

Escalar: me gusta ir a escalar, y a veces subo montañas (si no tengo fiaca).

Writing: it would be rather nice to be a writer. Writers who I seem to end up re-reading are Malcolm Lowry, William Faulkner, Garcia Marquez and Borges. (And J.K. Rowling of course!)

Films: could chat about Kubrick for days.

Philosophy: will happily bore anyone to death who's willing to engage in a long conversation about mostly useless things...

Music: play piano and used to play the sax (and leaning the guitar). Love Latin American music (especially samba; but definitely not the 'Latino Americano' genre popular in Peru and Bolivia), jazz, some electronic, the occasional bit of dub-step, and classical.

Climbing: love rock climbing and have done a bit of mountaineering.

Films: Anything by Kubrick, especially '2001: A Space Odyssey' and 'Barry Lyndon'. Most Hitchcock: my favourites are 'Notorious', 'Foreign Correspondent' and 'Vertigo'. Also like some Truffaut and Godard, Cronenberg, and early Dogme (i.e. 'Festen' and 'The Idiots' - both incredible). Alejandro Iñárritu is also very, very good. And Max Ophuls. And Fritz Lang. And the Coen Brothers...

Music:
Jazz: Bill Evans; Oscar Peterson; Clifford Brown; Ahmad Jamal; Louis Armstrong; Miles Davis; a little bit of Duke Ellington; Wynton Marsalis when he's playing jazz; Grover Washington Jr; Sidney Bechet from time to time; John Coltrane and always Charlie Parker.

Classical: most Romantic stuff (especially Rachmaninov, Schubert, Tchaikovsky and Richard Strauss) and lots and lots of Beethoven.

Other stuff: NINA SIMONE; Angelique Kidjo; Mercedes Sosa; Joao Gilberto; Chico Buarque; about half of the stuff Putumayo pumps out; Bonobo; Booka Shade; Boards of Canada; PANDA BEAR; other stuff.

Books: William Faulkner; Garcia Marquez; Dostoyevsky; Malcolm Lowry; Tolstoy; Harry Potter; George Orwell; Cormac McCarthy. etc.
