I traveled a lot when I was younger. I still get the itch every now and then, but it's harder to get away now than it used to be.

I've been the recipient of plenty of goodwill when I was younger and traveling on a real budget...I guess it's time to pay that back.

Also, since I don't get to travel as much as I used to, there is some degree of living vicariously through others.

I did a multi-day motorcycle trip through Thailand...that was fun. Also, not really amazing, but I did get trampled by a bull in Pamplona. I'm the one under the bull in the photo. You can see my watch that I'd purchased in Slovenia on that trip laying in the street. It got torn off by the bull.

Austin is a really fun town, but it's very laid back. Unless you have some very specific historical / cultural things to see...I'd advise you to take it easy and absorb the pace and vibe more than anything. It's rarely something people learn to appreciate in a couple of days, but you can try.

Swim in the springs. Kayak on the lake. Drink margaritas and eat tacos. Catch some shows. Slow down a bit.
