About Me

Hi, I'm Charlie. I live and work in London. I've recently finished a year living and working in Australia, where I worked for a university in Melbourne. I travelled back home from Singapore back to the UK overland, mostly by train, including the Trans Mongolian Railway.

I'm a friendly, relaxed, and easy going person. I enjoy cooking and discovering new foods.

I absolutely love travelling and exploring new places, and the people you meet along the way.

At University I studied a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and International Studies (no, I don't want to be a politician ;) but I'm fascinated by visiting new countries and experiencing their society and cultures.

I enjoy going out for a beer with friends - I'm currently brewing my own! Visiting galleries or museums, hiking, or watching a good film. I'm also a passionate vegetarian that loves to cook a nice meal.

PHILOSOPHY

"Don't Panic"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm spending some time in Bulgaria and I would love to see the country through the eyes of someone who lives there. More than anything I would love to meet locals from the places I'm travelling through. I love the idea of sharing experiences and understanding new things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In November 2011 I hitchhiked with a friend from Coventry to Berlin in under 48 hours spending no money on transport. A really great experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

Simple Vegetarian grilled Aubergine (eggplant) for summer BBQs:
- Slice an Aubergine into thick long slices. Discard the top and the bottom slices.
- Mix up a marinade of olive oil, lemon juice, pepper, salt, and mixed herbs. Leave the aubergine slices in the marinade for a while.
- Place the aubergine slices on a grill. Cook for five minutes.

Enjoy!
