About Me

CURRENT MISSION

make it safely to retirement age and go bananas

ABOUT ME

I've come out of an alcoholic stupor referred to as my 20s and 30s. Now, in this embryonic state, i cautiously have a go at whatever i fancy. Admittedly with some trepidation, but isn't that the point? Eventually i'll learn to trust loads of new people and life will be glorious.
I'm 43, single and hate trying to go on holiday with an imaginary friend - which is what travel agents believe, and charge me for.

PHILOSOPHY

Doing nothing is still doing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been on here less than a week (from July 2009) and therefore i can come back and update this when i've something to communicate.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've asked a few people if i can stay with them in Nice. That's my lot up to now.

Interests

I love playing Bridge, Snooker (pool for grown ups), watching stand up comedians, drinking a few beers.

Music, Movies, and Books

Almost every film imaginable apart from new horrors (i don't find slasher movies scary or entertaining).
Most music but less so 'freeform jazz' unless i'm watching it live when it is a bit better. Sad songs when i'm sad, dance music when i'm exercising, rock music when i'm ironing and anything funky when i'm out and about.
Brian Freemantle - Charlie Muffin books, Stephen King, Dan Brown, anything that is recommended - i loved 'life of pi' but would probably not had picked it out without a friends recommendation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once went to Yorkshire sculpture park in the pouring rain, bitching and moaning every step of the way as i walked amond the sodden fields and realised i was with the most beautiful woman ever. I'd go back there everytime my time machine allowed.

Teach, Learn, Share

Sadly my practical skills are somewhat limited, but i'm learning to care, help, advise and support. Whilst i've not had the opportunity yet, i probably will learn more than i can share, but i'll not let anyone down.
