ABOUT ME

The story of my life in a nutshell: I was born in Karlsruhe/Germany and stayed there for one half of my life, then I studied and lived in Heidelberg for another third and since 2008 I live in Mannheim. Lived abroad for some years in between.

I work for an engineering company in Mannheim and besides that, I teach at Heidelberg University.

I usually like to spend time with my surfers in the house or outside. I love to talk or play board games in the evening or cook or just listen to good music. It takes a lot to shake my good temper (unless you violated one of the DONTs in the "My Home" section).

Hosting

Surfing

I tend to travel very light. Thus I will not usually have blankets, sheets or a sleeping bag. I usually don't bring a towel, but if my host would prefer that I bring one, I'm happy to buy one and leave it for the next surfer.

Other than hosting and surfing

I'm usually happy to meet up for a chat/tea/meal if I'm in town and it fits my schedule. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Met a bunch of crazy couchsurfers in Jerusalem. Had loads of fun. Decided to join the community.

Love classical vocal music, but also jazz, rock and pop, including Metal, Grunge and Hardrock.

Algo increíble que he hecho

Had a car crash at 190 Km/h colliding with a heavy truck and survived without a scratch.

Fell from a 20m rock into a small moutain river and found out that, luckily, such a river can be 5m deep.

Teach
I'm extremely well-travelled in Europe, so you won't go wrong asking me to help with your travel plans and logistics.

Learn
It might be nice to improve any of the languages that I'm a not an expert in.
I am also always keen to learn new games or improve my skills in Go (= Wei-Qi = Baduk) or chess.
