I am a biologist and freelance scientific writer.

Por que estou no Couchsurfing?

I have been on couchsurfing for a couple of years, and originally was spending more time traveling than I was hosting. It is now time for me to give back the couchsurfing community!

I like to be social in the evenings after work and usually take a road trip every weekend. Skagaströnd is an isolated little town - I enjoy the company.

Interesses

I like identifying birds and fish and wildlife watching - I can usually find some whales to watch, or a fox somewhere in the mountains. I have a blog, and write about science, with a particular focus on parasites and infectious disease. I love to snowboard and husky sled when I can. I enjoy the ocean, and being at sea.

I´m really into cars and motorbikes - I usually take a road trip every weekend, and take people from couchsurfing with me when I can. I am trying to do some of the off roading trials through Iceland at the moment with my 4x4.

I have some local knowledge about the species of bird, fish, and mammals in Iceland and I love talking about my work and teaching others.

I am always really keen to talk about other countries - I am very interested in politics and economy, new recipes, and cultural differences between the countries I have traveled between.

I speak conversational Icelandic, and I enjoy teaching others, and I am trying to learn some Polish.

Often I will ask my surfers to bring groceries with them from Reykjavik, as everything is expensive in town.
