I'm 22 years old and live in the UK.
Since the age of 16 I have been taking every opportunity I can to travel. I have travelled extensively around Europe, as well as having visited Egypt and Nepal, India and Indonesia. I'm staying in the UK for the next couple of years so I'm happy to host people.

I think the best way to truly get to know a country and its culture is to interact with local people as much as possible. I try to stay with friends as much as possible when I travel, such as in Germany, France, Bulgaria, Romania, ect. as well as arranging to stay in peoples' homes (e.g. In Nepal). However, there are many places where I do not yet have friends in the world and I think couchsurfing is a great way change this - I look forward to meeting lots of new people :)
